Synopsis: Confluence Park is very much a work in progress, and the trail, although not totally finished, is the first step in that work. The Park is located at the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse Rivers near the Golden airport. The trail runs along the edge of the Columbia River.
Access: From the lights in Golden, head west on 9th Street until it dead ends on 5th Avenue. Turn right and drive about five blocks until Fisher Road angles off on the left. Take Fisher Road past the helipad, across the railroad tracks, drive all the way to the first airport building. Park on the gravel across from the picnic tables.
Trailhead: The trailhead is located next to the dirt boat ramp.
Trail: The trail, which is hardened with gravel, meanders along the wetlands and forest along the edge of the Columbia River. It eventually leads back to the road just south of the big corner.
